Hotels on Ándros: prices, timing and areas
Andros is the northernmost of the Cyclades, green and quiet, far from the crowds of Mykonos or Santorini. Guests stay about four nights on average and split their time between beaches, mountain trails and stone villages, while most of the stays are studios, apartments and small family hotels rather than large resorts. This list has 135 properties, from a guesthouse room to a boutique spa hotel in the capital. Below is what really drives the price of a stay on Andros: the month, the day of the week and the area.
When to book a stay on Andros for less
Prices on Andros follow the swimming season and the holidays. Winter is cheapest, in December, when rates drop about 60 percent below the yearly average, as most guests come in summer. April is the priciest, around Orthodox Easter, when the island fills with visitors from Athens and rates can run several times higher than in winter. The arrival day matters too: Monday tends to be the cheapest, Wednesday the most expensive. For a regular trip, book about a month ahead, as the lowest rates appear just before the date and a few weeks out can cost more.
What a stay costs by property type
The stock on Andros is mostly studios, apartments and small hotels, so the price spread is narrower than in a big city. The cheapest sleep is a simple studio or a guesthouse room away from the beach; you pay the most for an apartment with a pool and a boutique spa hotel. Below are indicative nightly rates.
| Property type | Indicative price per night (from) |
| Studio or holiday apartment | from approx. EUR 64 |
| Guesthouse room | from approx. EUR 77 |
| Three-star hotel | from approx. EUR 83 |
| Four-star hotel | from approx. EUR 114 |
| Apartment with a pool or villa | from approx. EUR 107 |
| Boutique spa hotel | from approx. EUR 137 |

Where on the island to look for a stay
Batsi has the most properties and the most bookings, the main resort on the west coast with a beach, tavernas and an easy entry into the sea. The capital, Chora or Andros Town, has neoclassical houses, museums and the smartest hotels, including boutique spa addresses. Gavrion is the ferry port where boats from Rafina near Athens arrive, so it is a good choice for the first and last night. Quieter and often cheaper stays are in smaller places such as Kipri by the beach, mountain Apikia with its springs, or Ormos Korthiou in the south. The island has limited transport, so a car helps if you want to explore freely.
Which stay on Andros suits whom
- For families. Properties with a pool and a beach nearby work well, along with apartments with a kitchen. Families often choose Micra Anglia Boutique Hotel & Spa, Archontiko Eleni Hotel and Camara Suites.
- For couples. The highest rated by couples are Camara Suites, Egli Hotel and Anemomiloi Andros. A short walk from there to a taverna dinner and an evening stroll around Chora.
- With breakfast. Breakfast in the rate is praised by guests of Camara Suites, Egli Hotel and Micra Anglia Boutique Hotel & Spa. Handy before a day on the beach or on a trail.
- By the ferry. For the first or last night, properties in and around Gavrion are good, a few minutes from the port where the ferry from Rafina arrives.
- For quiet and nature. Smaller villages such as Apikia, Kipri or Ormos Korthiou offer calm and easier access to the mountain trails of Andros, one of the greenest Cyclades.
